Paris: Gauthier-Villars, 1921. 1st French. FIRST FRENCH TRANSLATION of this “popular” exposition of the theory of relativity. Einstein's theory is generalized in order to make it accessible to all. It was immediately translated into the main European languages, here from the German edition of Madmoiselle J. Rouviere and enriched with a preface by Emile Borel. Weil: 90b. Item #1432
Condition: 12mo. [xxii, 120pp]. “Enaelbrecht” is written in an early hand on the title page, possibly “And Aelbrecht.” An Albrecht Folsing would later write a biography of Einstein, but the handwriting is too early to be his. Very good condition but front wrap is neatly detached. Bright and clean throughout.
